Installing 'The Sum of Our Parts' for Synthesis Show

Yesterday was my turn to install my paintings for the Synthesis Show. It is always a bit of a gamble when I am painting with a specific venue/theme in mind as to whether it will come off. I filled my studio with microscopic slides, which although I am not using in the show, have definitely informed my work. The colours in the paintings have been influenced by them and the drab bricks of industrial Manchester! I really felt happier installing work in such a 'real' venue as opposed to a sterile white walled gallery. Think my paintings respond much better, and under low light too. Very inspiring day. The sum of my parts is obviously the industrial atmospheric look!!
P.S. The space is for my girl who isn't dry yet!
